Wait approximately 20 - 30 seconds for your car stereo to recognize a newly connected USB device. If your stereo doesn't recognize the USB device, disconnect and reconnect it again.
If there is no playback after reconnecting the device, perform the following steps and check if the car stereo plays music after each step:
- The USB connection is only available for Android™ phones and USB devices in MSC mode. When using a smartphone other than an Android phone, make a Bluetooth® connection.
- Make sure the USB device isn't empty.
- Make sure the files in your USB device are compatible with your stereo.
Notes:- USB devices formatted with file systems other than FAT16, FAT32, or exFAT are unsupported.
- Check your product manual for details about supported file formats. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- Use a shorter USB cable to connect your device to the car stereo, or replace the USB cable with a new one.
Note: Do not use a USB extension cable as it may cause deterioration of signal quality. - Make sure the car stereo has the latest firmware version. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
- If the issue still occurs after performing these steps, perform a factory reset on the car stereo. Check your car stereo manual for model-specific instructions.
Note: Not all car stereo receivers have USB capabilities. Refer to your product manual for details.
