If the cameras (main or front) do not work properly
- Perform the following steps and, after finishing each one, check to see if the issue is resolved:
- Force stop the Camera or Photography Pro app and clear the cache.
- Update your device’s software.

- Force your device to restart.
Refer to the How do I force my device to restart? for detailed instructions.
- Because doing so may cause the cameras on the phone to malfunction, avoid the following when using the phone:
- Do not use a cover unless designed specifically for your Xperia® phone.
The cameras will not work correctly if a cover blocks the lenses or sensors. - Do not take pictures with fogged or dirty lenses.
- Do not take photos with the lenses covered by a protective film or other objects.
- Do not take pictures with your fingers or a cover close to the lenses.
If they are too close, the flash may reflect off your fingers or the cover, resulting in poor photo or movie quality.
- Do not use a cover unless designed specifically for your Xperia® phone.
