How do I activate or deactivate the vibration or sound on keypress or when typing?
Setting the screen to vibrate on keypress and sound on keypress
- Android™ 10 or higher (with Gboard keyboard)
- From the home screen, find and tap Settings → Languages & input (or Keyboard) → On-screen keyboard → Gboard.
- Find and tap Preferences.
- Find and tap Sound on keypress to toggle ON or OFF.
- Find and tap Haptic feedback on keypress to toggle ON or OFF.
Note: You can also tap Use the Android default vibration if overall device vibration is enabled.

Android 8.0 or 9 (with SwiftKey keyboard)
- From the Home screen, find and tap Settings → Language & input → On-screen keyboard → SwiftKey Keyboard.
- Tap Typing → Sound & Vibration.
- Tap Keypress vibration to enable, then drag the slider to set the vibration intensity.
- Tap Keypress sound volume to enable, then drag the slider to set the volume.
Note: You can also tap Use the Android default vibration if overall device vibration is enabled. -
Android 7.0 (with SwiftKey keyboard)
- Find and tap Settings → Language & input → Virtual keyboard.
- Tap Xperia keyboard.
- Tap Keypress feedback.
- Drag the slider beside Vibration on keypress to the right.
- Tap Vibration intensity and drag the slider to set vibration intensity.
- To enable sound, drag the slider beside Sound on keypress to the right.

- Find and tap Settings → Language & input.
- Tap Xperia keyboard.
- Tap Keypress feedback.
- Drag the slider beside Vibration on keypress to the right.

- Find and tap Settings → Sound/Sound and Vibration → Vibration & haptics..
- Drag the sliders next to Touch feedback.
- Android 9, 10, 11, or 12
- Find and tap Settings → Sound → Advanced.
- Find and tap Touch vibration.

- Drag the slider next to Vibrate on tap to the right.

- Find and tap Settings → Sound → Other sounds.
- Drag the slider next to Vibrate on tap to the right.

- Find and tap Settings → Sound & notification → Other sounds.
- Drag the slider next to Vibrate on touch to the right.

- Find and tap Settings → Sound.
- Mark or unmark the Vibrate on touch checkbox.
- Android 10, 11, or 12
- Find and tap Settings → Sound → Advanced.
- Find and tap Dialpad tones and Touch sounds.

- Find and tap Settings → Sound → Advanced.
- Drag the sliders next to Dialpad tones and Touch sounds to the right.

Android 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, or 7.0
- Find and tap Settings → Sound & notification /Sound → Other sounds.
- Drag the sliders next to Dialpad tones and Touch sounds to the right.

Android 4.2, 4.3, or 4.4
- Find and tap Settings → Sound.
- Mark or unmark the Dial pad touch tones and Touch sound checkboxes.
