I can’t connect a USB device to my phone or tablet

You have to enable the detection of the USB device in the Settings menu of your Xperia™ device, before you start using the USB device.

Your Xperia device has a capless USB port. If your device gets exposed to water, make sure that the USB port is completely dry before inserting a USB cable.

Note! Sony does not guarantee that all USB devices are supported by your device.

Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia M5 and Xperia M5 Dual

To enable the detection of a USB device

1. Attach the USB Host adapter to your Xperia device, then connect the adapter to the USB device.
2. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
3. Find and tap Settings > Xperia™ Connectivity > USB Connectivity > Detect USB peripheral or Detect USB device.

Xperia Z5 series

To enable the detection of a USB device

1. Attach the USB Host adapter to your Xperia device, then connect the adapter to the USB device.
2. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
3. Find and tap Settings > Device connection > USB Connectivity > Detect USB device.
