You might experience that you can't use two SIM cards and one memory card simultaneously in some Xperia® devices. The hybrid SIM tray/trays used in these devices only allow you to insert an additional SIM card or a memory card.
The hybrid SIM tray occupies less space. However, if you want to use two SIM cards, expanding the device's storage using a memory card is impossible.
Note: Some Xperia® models don't feature a hybrid SIM tray in their dual SIM variants. On these devices, using two SIM cards and a microSD™ card simultaneously is possible. They are:
- Xperia L1 Dual SIM (G3312)
- Xperia L2 Dual SIM (H4311, H4331)
- Xperia L3 Dual SIM (I4312, I4332)
- Xperia XA1 Dual SIM (G3112, G3116)
- Xperia XA1 Ultra Dual SIM (G3212, G3226)
- Xperia XA1 Plus Dual SIM (G3412, G3416)
- Xperia XA2 Ultra Dual SIM (H4213, H4233)
- Xperia XA2 Plus Dual SIM (H4413, H4433, H4493)
- Xperia 10 Plus Dual SIM (I4213, I4293)
The Xperia XZ Premium Dual SIM and the Xperia XZ1 Dual SIM card trays have room for one SIM card. In addition, the memory card tray allows you to use a second SIM card or a memory card.
Dual SIM devices with two trays
Xperia 1 IV Dual SIM/ Xperia 5 IV Dual SIM/ Xperia 1 V Dual SIM
Notes:
- Your device supports nano-SIM cards.
- The XQ-CT54/XQ-CQ54/XQ-DQ54 supports using one nano-SIM card and a memory card. You can use the device as a dual SIM device by inserting a nano-SIM card and configuring an eSIM.
- The XQ-CT62/XQ-CT72/XQ-CQ62/XQ-CQ72/XQ-DQ62/XQ-DQ72 supports using either two nano-SIM cards or a nano-SIM card and a memory card.
- Even if you use two SIMs that support 5G, you can only use 5G on the SIM set for data traffic. You can't use 5G on two SIMs at the same time.
- XQ-CT54/XQ-CQ54/XQ-DQ54: You don't need to insert a nano-SIM card if you will only use an eSIM.
- To prevent loss of data, unmount the memory card before removing it. To remove the memory card safely, find and tap Settings → Storage, tap This device to select SD card, and tap More icon → Eject.
- Don't cut your SIM card, as this may damage your device.

Follow these steps for your Dual SIM phone
- Drag out the SIM card tray.
- Place the primary SIM card securely in position for SIM1.
- Place the second SIM card (SIM2) or the memory card securely in the tray in the correct orientation.
- Gently push the SIM card tray back into the slot until it fits.

- To insert two SIM cards
- Drag out the memory card tray and the SIM card tray.
- Place SIM 1 securely in the SIM card tray.
- Place SIM 2 securely in the memory card tray.
- Push the SIM card tray first, then the memory card tray, back into their slots until they fit into place.
- To insert one SIM card and one microSD card.
- Drag out the memory card tray and the SIM card tray.
- Place the SIM card securely in the SIM card tray.
- Gently push the SIM card tray first, then the memory card tray, back into their slots until they fit into place.
Xperia XA2 (H4113, H4133)
