How can I enable Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi)?

    VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) or Wi-Fi Calling is a telephony service your network operator provides. This service enables you to place a voice call using Wi-Fi®.

    To be able to make calls with Wi-Fi Calling, some conditions must be fulfilled:

    Note: Contact your network operator to verify the compatibility of your Xperia® device model.

    • Your phone model must support Wi-Fi Calling.
    • Your operator, subscription, and SIM card must support Wi-Fi Calling.
    • Depending on your operator, your phone may need to be operator-branded or use operator-customized system software.
    • Your phone must be within the range of a Wi-Fi network.

    Select your operating system to enable Wi-Fi Calling

    • Android 12, 13, 14
      • Dual SIM users
        1. Find and tap Phone.
        2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings Calling accounts select a SIM card → Additional SettingsWi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
    • Android 10™ or 11:
      • Single SIM users
        1. Find and tap Phone.
        2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → SettingsCallsWi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
        3. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
      • Dual SIM users
        1. Find and tap Phone.
        2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → SettingsCalling accounts → select a SIM card → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
        3. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
    • Android 9 or Android 8.0:
      • Single SIM users
        1. Find and tap the Phone icon.
        2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → SettingsCallsWi-Fi Calling.
          • If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
        3. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
      • Dual SIM users
        1. Find and tap the Phone icon.
        2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → SettingsCalling accounts → select a SIM card → Wi-Fi Calling.
          • If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
        3. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
    • Android 6.0, 7.0, 7.1, or 7.1.1:
      1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
      2. Find and tap SettingsMoreWi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
      3. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
      4. To make a Wi-Fi call, you need the recipient's phone number.
