Helpful tips for pairing the OTC Hearing Aids to your Apple device
Open apps on your iPhone® or iPad®, Bluetooth® connections, such as an Apple Watch®, and media volume may cause interference while pairing your OTC hearing aids. We recommend that you close all apps that are running in the background and turn off your Apple Watch or other paired devices before you pair the OTC hearing aids to avoid such interference.
Close apps running in the background
To ensure a smooth setup process for your OTC hearing aids, it's important to close any open apps on your phone. Even if you click out of an app, it may still be running in the background and causing interference. Simply restarting your phone will not solve this issue. Therefore, please manually close any apps running in the background before proceeding with the setup process.
Please refer to the Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch page to make sure your apps are closed.
Turn off your Apple Watch
An Apple Watch will interfere with the OTC hearing aid setup. To avoid interference, turn off the Apple Watch.
Press and hold the side button until the sliders appear, then drag the Power Off slider to the right.
Media volume on Apple mobile devices
Media volume is not always the volume button on the side of the phone. To adjust the media volume on an Apple device, you need to go to the control center of the phone and find the slider bar with the speaker icon. This is the media volume. Turn it up to approximately 75%. We don't recommend setting the volume to 100%.
If you need instructions on how to open the control center, refer to the Access Control Center on your iPhone page for details.
- If there is an ear icon in the media volume slider box, rather than a horn icon, this indicates there is a Bluetooth device connected. All external devices must be disconnected for set up (either unpaired or turned off). Please disconnect any external devices and return to this screen to adjust the media volume with the horn icon.
- To find your control center to adjust the media volume:
