Troubleshooting tips for charging the CRE-C20 and CRE-E10 OTC Self-fitting Hearing Aids

Here are the most common reasons why your CRE-C20 and CRE-E10 OTC Hearing Aids may not be charging correctly and suggestions to resolve the issue. Please check if the issue is resolved after trying each step.

    • Wax or other debris on the charging contacts may cause a poor connection between the hearing aids and the charging case, preventing the hearing aids from charging.
Use the supplied brush and cleaning cloth to clean the hearing aid and charging case contacts. You can also use hearing aid cleaning wipes, such as AudioWipes , to wipe away visible wax or residue from the hearing aids and/or the charging case.
    • The sleeve may be installed incorrectly.
Check the sleeve to make sure the tab is aligned on the outside of the hearing aid so it sets oblong in the charger. Proper orientation can be found in the user manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    • The left and right hearing aids may be on the wrong sides of the charger.
Make sure the right hearing aid is on the right side of the charger and the left on the left side. The "Sony" logo on the side of the hearing aids should face the lid.
    • The hearing aids may not have been placed in the charger correctly preventing them from making contact with the charge contacts.
Remove the hearing aids from the case and then place them in the charger directly from the top rather than the side.
    • The charging case may not have sufficient charge.
Plug the charger into a wall outlet. This is a helpful visual indicator that the hearing aids are charging properly. When plugged in, the lights will continuously remain on if there is good contact.
    • There may be a problem with the wall outlet or cable.
Try a different wall outlet, wall adapter, and a different cord.

Note: To test that the hearing aids are connected properly, tilt the charger slightly to the side. If the hearing aids stay on the charging pin, they’re correctly placed. You'll know they’re not properly seated If they fall off the charger.
