The Xperia Ear Duo doesn't pair with my iOS device

    You may experience that you can't pair your iOS device with the Xperia Ear Duo.

    Try these methods one after the other. Verify whether the problem was solved after each method, before trying the next one.

    1. Install the Xperia Ear Duo app from App Store on your iOS device.
    2. Make sure not to cover the proximity sensor of the right main unit with your finger, as this can prevent the unit from entering pairing mode.
    3. Check that there are no objects in the charging case that don't belong there.
    4. Charge the charging case.
    5. Place the right main unit in the charging case, and let it charge for 5 seconds.
    6. If present, remove XEA20 and XEA20-LE from Bluetooth settings in your iOS device
    7. Remove the right main unit from the charging case.
      • If the LED of the main unit flashes quickly in blue, go to Bluetooth settings in your iOS device and select XEA20. Note! Do not select XEA20-LE.
      • If the LED of the main unit flashes slowly in blue, touch and hold the touchpad for 5 seconds. If the LED then starts flashing quickly in blue, go to Bluetooth settings in your iOS device and select XEA20. Note! Do not select XEA20-LE.
    8. Pair your iOS device with the Xperia Ear Duo.
      • If the Xperia Ear Duo app displays Bluetooth Pairing Request, select Pair. If you succeed in pairing your iOS device with the Xperia Ear Duo, go to step 9.
      • If pairing didn't succeed, perform a factory data reset of the right main unit. Then repeat the instructions from step 6.
    9. If you succeed in pairing your iOS device with the Xperia Ear Duo, open the Xperia Ear Duo app.
      • If pairing succeeded, but the Xperia Ear Duo app continues to display Disconnected, perform a factory data reset of the right main unit. Then repeat the instructions from step 5.
    1. When the Xperia Ear Duo app displays Connected, your iOS device is paired with the Xperia Ear Duo.

    If none of the methods above solved the problem, follow these steps

    Try these methods one after the other. Verify whether the problem was solved after each method, before trying the next one.

    • Turn off Bluetooth in your phone or tablet, and then turn it back on again.
    • Perform a factory data reset of the right main unit. Then if present, remove XEA20 or XEA20-LE from the Bluetooth menu in your iOS device, and pair and connect the Xperia Ear Duo to your iOS device.
    • Restart your iOS device.
    • Uninstall the Xperia Ear Duo app and then install it again from App Store.
    • If these actions didn't solve the problem, contact us.
