How to install the Bluetooth® USB adapter and the BlueSpace™ software.
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
Follow this procedure to install the Bluetooth® USB adapter and the BlueSpace™ software.
IMPORTANT:
- Service Pack 1 (SP1) for the Windows® XP operating system must be installed before the Bluetooth® USB adapter can be used for communication.
- To determine if Service Pack 1 is installed, check the System Properties window.
- If Service Pack 1 is not yet installed, it can be downloaded from the Microsoft® Web site at https://www.microsoft.com .
NOTES:
- Before using the Bluetooth® USB adapter for communication with a device, ensure any necessary software for the other device is properly installed.
- Sony recommends using the Bluetooth® wireless functions included in the Windows® XP operating system with SP2 for making Bluetooth® wireless connections.
- Insert the PCGA-B1/A Installation CD into the CD/DVD drive.
- In the Technology and Creativity window, click the Install Driver and Application button.
- In the Sony Bluetooth USB Adapter PCGA-BA1/A Setup window, click the Next button.
- In the Windows XP Q323183 Setup Wizard window, click the Next button.
- Under License Agreement , click to select I agree to agree to the terms of the License Agreement.
- Click the Next button.
- Under Completing the Windows XP Q323183 Setup Wizard , click the Finish button.
- In the Windows XP Q811228 Setup Wizard window, click the Next button.
- Under License Agreement , click to select I agree to agree to the terms of the License Agreement.
- Click the Next button.
- Under Completing the Windows XP Q811228 Setup Wizard , click the Finish button.
- In the Information dialog box, click the OK button.
NOTE: If other accounts are currently logged in, in the Windows window, click the Yes button.
- At the Welcome screen, click the desired account name to log in to the operating system.
NOTE: If an account is currently logged in to the operating system, text indicating the account is Logged In or the number of programs running will be displayed immediately below the account name.
- If a password is required to log in to the operating system, in the Type your password box, type the password.
IMPORTANT: If the password has been forgotten, click the QUESTION MARK (?) button next to the Type your password box to display a password hint.
- Press the ENTER key.
- In the Found New Hardware Wizard window, click the Next button.
- In the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard window, click the Finish button.
- When the Information dialog box is displayed, connect the Bluetooth® USB adapter to a USB port on the computer.
- In the Found New Hardware Wizard window, click the Next button.
- In the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard window, click the Finish button.
- In the Information dialog box, click the OK button.
- In the Sony Bluetooth USB Adapter PCGA-BA1/A Setup window, click the Finish button.
NOTE: If other accounts are currently logged in, in the Windows window, click the Yes button.
