How to change the Windows 8 operating system installation path.

    The Windows 8 operating system will automatically attempt to install itself to the Local Hard Disk Drive (usually the C:\ drive). To install the operating system on a different partition or drive, follow these steps to change the installation path.

    1. Start the Windows 8 operating system installation process.
    2. In the Windows Setup window, click to select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced). Image
    3. In the Where do you want to install Windows screen, click to select the partition on which you want to install the operating system, and then press the Next button. Image
