How to change the Windows 8 operating system installation path.
The Windows 8 operating system will automatically attempt to install itself to the Local Hard Disk Drive (usually the C:\ drive). To install the operating system on a different partition or drive, follow these steps to change the installation path.
- Start the Windows 8 operating system installation process.
- In the Windows Setup window, click to select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).
- In the Where do you want to install Windows screen, click to select the partition on which you want to install the operating system, and then press the Next button.
- The operating system will begin the installation procedure on the chosen partition.
