How to troubleshoot Windows Protection Errors.

IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    1. Remove any recently installed memory (RAM) modules.
    2. Reset the computers BIOS to the default values.
    3. Disconnect all recently installed hardware, including any external drives.
    4. Perform a system restore to a point when the computer was functioning properly.

If the error occurs the first time the computer is turned on after taking it out of the packaging box, the hard drive may need to be serviced.  Go to Product Repair.
