Unable to pair Bluetooth devices using the Broadcom Bluetooth adapter.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

When trying to connect a Bluetooth® device, such as a headset or cellphone, with the computer, you may be able to initiate the pairing but an error occurs stating all drivers could not be installed. In the Devices and Printers window, you may notice a yellow exclamation mark over the device icon. Also, in Device Manager, you may see an unknown Bluetooth Peripheral Device with a yellow exclamation mark.

To resolve the issue, following the instructions below:

    1. Download and install all the latest Broadcom® Bluetooth drivers and firmware. Downloads are posted on your model support page.

NOTE: Not all computers have an internal Broadcom Bluetooth radio adapter. To see if your computer has a one, check the specifications. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    2. Try to set up the Bluetooth connection  again.
    3. If unknown or other devices still are displayed in Device Manager for the Bluetooth device, contact the manufacture of the device to verify the proper software and drivers are installed.
