    This package is required when updating the VRD-VC10 firmware to version 0214 for video capturing support.

    Before You Start

    Important Notes

    • WARNING!! Do not turn off the drive or the computer during the update process.
    • This Video Capturing Plug-in for NeroVision Express requires "Update-Package 2" from Nero®. The latest version of NeroVision Express may be installed after the plug-in. If the plug-in does not work, your Nero application may not have been updated, please visit the Nero web site for their latest updates and information to update your Nero software. It's recommended that both "Update-Package 1" and "Update-Package 2" have been installed.
    • Please ensure the DVDirect drive is connected to your computer, powered on, and properly detected by the computer. Please see "Connecting the drive to a computer" in the Operating Instructions for more information about using the drive as an external DVD drive.
    • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the VC10_Video_Plug-in.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the VC10_Video_Plug-in.exe file to begin the installation.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to extract the files to the desired location.
    5. At the "WinZip Self-Extractor - VC10_Video_Plug-in.exe" dialog, click the "Browse" button to locate and select the desired location to save the extracted files, then click "Unzip".
    6. At the "9 file(s) unzipped successfully" dialog, click "OK", and then click "Close".
    7. Ensure the DVDirect drive is connected to your computer and powered on.
    8. Go to the directory where the 9 files were extracted and double-click the "Setup.exe" file to start the installer.
    9. At the "Welcome to the Sony VRD-VC10 [Video Capture] Installer!" screen, click "Next".
    10. At the "Congratulations! You are finished installing your Sony VRD-VC10 [Video Capture] device" screen, click "Finish".
    11. At the "Windows must reboot" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and then click "OK".
    12. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, click "Finish".

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the DVDirect VRD-VC10 Video Capturing Plug-in is complete.
