A universal remote control or infrared (IR) blaster does not operate a Sony DVD/VCR combo.

Sony® DVD/VCR combos generally are not supported and cannot be controlled using a universal remote control or IR blaster because they do not operate with the same IR frequencies that are common in standalone VCRs and DVD players. However, it might be possible to control some operations using a universal remote control with learning capabilities.
