The speaker cannot pair with the device, or connect with the device once paired

    Before you start

    • If you connect the speaker to an iOS® device, iOS 10.0 or later is supported. Devices using iOS 9.x or earlier are not supported.
    • Make sure that the source device (computer, TV, projector, etc.) supports Bluetooth® connection; specifically, the device supports sending the content with the A2DP profile. If the device doesn't support an A2DP profile or supports only receiving the profile, the connection will fail.
Hint: For details about the specifications of the BRAVIA™ TV, refer to the Can I use Bluetooth audio devices with my Google TV™ or Android TV™ article.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

Note: If you connect the speaker to an iOS device, iOS 10.0 or later is supported. Devices using iOS 9.x or earlier are not supported.

    1. Try the pairing with the following procedure:
      1. Turn on the Bluetooth device, and make sure that the Bluetooth function is set to ON.
      2. Put the speaker into pairing mode. If the Bluetooth indicator does not flash, press the Bluetooth button on the front speaker. When the speaker enters the pairing mode, you will hear voice guidance saying Pairing, and the Bluetooth indicator will start twice repeatedly.
      3. On the Bluetooth device, select the speaker's device name and complete the pairing:
        Notes:
        • Keep the speaker and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3.3 ft).
        • If the speaker is not displayed on the Bluetooth device, turn off the Bluetooth function and turn it on again. This will resolve the issue.
        • Refer to the speaker's Help Guide for details about the pairing procedure.
The pairing can be successfully completed.
There has been an issue connecting with the device, such as Bluetooth pairing being disconnected.
      The pairing fails.
      Go to the next step.
    2. Confirm that the speaker is connected to the source device without Low Energy (LE) mode:

Make sure that the speaker and the source device are not connected via LE mode. If connected via LE mode, the Bluetooth connection may fail, or the sound may not output from the speaker even after the device is paired. To confirm the connection status, check the device name on the Bluetooth setting on the source device. If the connected device name is displayed with LE_ (for example LE_HT-AX7), pair and connect with the device name without LE_ (for example HT-AX7). For details about the pairing procedure, refer to the speaker's Help Guide.

The pairing can be successfully completed.
The issue may have been caused because the speaker is connected via LE mode.
      The pairing fails.
      Go to the next step.
    3. Try the pairing after resetting the speaker:

To reset the speaker, press and hold the Bluetooth and - (Volume down) on the front speaker simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
Note: After resetting the audio device, the Bluetooth connection may fail. If this occurs, delete the audio device pairing information from the device you want to pair with and try the pairing again.

The pairing can be successfully completed.
A temporary malfunction of the speaker may have caused the issue.
      The pairing fails.
      Go to the next step.
    4. If you have a different smartphone, Walkman, or other devices, try to perform a Bluetooth pairing with the speaker and one of these other devices:
      Pairing can be done successfully.
The Bluetooth device that was initially connected may be malfunctioning. Consult the manufacturer of the device.
Pairing fails on these devices too.
The speaker may have malfunctioned, and service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
