An error message is displayed after choosing System Restore from the System Recovery Options window.
An error To perform an offline System Restore... may be displayed after booting to Recovery discs that include the Windows Vista® operating system and then selecting System Restore if the computer has been downgraded to the Windows® XP operating system.
This issue may occur even if you created System Restore points in the Windows XP operating system because the Windows System Restore option from the discs only is compatible with System Restore points created in the Windows Vista operating system.
Since the System Restore points are not compatible, the System Restore option is not supported in this situation.
