A hard disk error occurs when the computer starts.

    Follow this procedure to troubleshoot hard disk errors that occur when starting the computer.

    NOTE: Follow  this procedure for a Smart Drive Failure  error.

    1. Remove all disks and media from any of the optical or media drives.
    2. Restart the computer.

      NOTE: If the computer does not restart, turn the computer off and then back on.

    3. Access the computer BIOS  and see if the hard drive is detected.
    4. If possible, detect and repair errors on the hard drive using the Check Disk utility .
    5. Perform a format and recovery of the hard drive.

    The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
