Set up the Wi-Fi Direct feature for 2013 and 2014 TV models

This information provides the steps to set up the Wi-Fi Direct® feature for 2013 and 2014 TV models.

Note: These steps and images may differ slightly depending on your model. If model-specific info is needed, check your product manuals for details. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

Turn on the Built-in Wi-Fi of your TV

1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings.

   

3. Select System Settings or Network.
   • If the TV shows Network, skip to step 6.
4. Select Setup or Network Setup.
   Note: Your steps may differ depending on your model and software version. If model-specific info is needed, check your product manuals for details.

5. Select Wi-Fi Setup.
6. Select Built-in Wi-Fi or Built-in Wireless LAN.
7. Select ON.

Turn on the Wi-Fi Direct feature of the TV

1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select System Settings or Network.
   • If the TV shows Network, skip to step 6.
4. Select Setup or Network Setup.

5. Select Wi-Fi Setup.
6. Select Wi-Fi Direct.
7. Select ON.

Establish a Wi-Fi Direct connection to your TV

1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select System Settings or Network.
   • If the TV shows Network, skip to step 6.
4. Select Setup or Network Setup.
   Note: Your steps may differ depending on your model and software version. If model-specific info is needed, check your product manuals for details.

5. Select Wi-Fi Setup.
6. Select Wi-Fi Direct Settings.
7. Connect your Wi-Fi Direct device to your TV. For details, refer to the manual of the device you are connecting.
   Note: If you're unable to connect successfully, choose the manual option.

Manual connection option

Use the manual connection option If the Wi-Fi Direct connection fails. This option displays the SSID and the WPA key needed to connect a Wi-Fi Direct device to your TV.

1. Press the OPTIONS button.
2. Select Manual.
3. Select either WPS or Other Methods.
   • WPS (Push Button)
     • On the Wi-Fi Direct device, go to the wireless network setting screen, select WPS (if capable, for automatic setup), or perform a scan to connect to the TV.
     • The WPS setting is not available on all Wi-Fi Direct capable devices. Check the manual supplied with the mobile device or computer for information regarding the WPS setting.
   • Other Methods
     • The TV screen displays the SSID and the WPA key needed to enter on the Wi-Fi Direct device you're connecting to the TV.
4. Connect your Wi-Fi Direct device to your TV. For details, refer to the manual of the device you are connecting.
