What is NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0)?
NextGen TV™ (ATSC 3.0) is the latest version of over-the-air antenna TV and brings several improvements over the previous ATSC 1.0 standard, including better reception, up to 4K Ultra HDTV video with movie theater-quality sound, more channels, mobile viewing on the go, on-demand internet content, and more. Antenna and internet connections give you access to the full range of capabilities of the new system. While you can receive NextGen TV without being connected to the internet, if you're connected to the internet, NextGen TV will deliver an even better experience that will be enhanced over time.
- Some features may not be available at release and will come with future rollouts as broadcasters extend their aerial coverage and add new features.
- The content resolution, whether it is 4K or other, is determined by the broadcaster and not by the receiving device or the TV.
- When an ATSC3 broadcast is detected during the Auto-Program process, whether it's a good signal or not, the simulcast ATSC broadcast will auto-hide. To view a hidden ATSC channel, un-hide it in Settings by pressing the Home button on your supplied remote, and then select Settings → Channels and Inputs → Cable Antenna → Show Hide Channels.
