Can a Wi-Fi USB Dongle, a 3G or a 4G USB Modem be used with my Sony Internet video device?

IMPORTANT: Not all Internet video devices have a USB port or are Internet capable. The UWABR100 wireless LAN adapter is the only Wireless LAN USB dongle designed and guaranteed to work with the Internet video devices. The drivers and software required by this adapter are built-in to the devices. Other USB Wireless LAN adapters may require special drivers and software or operating system requirements.

Sony® Internet video devices are only compatible with the IEEE 802.11x WI-FI standard. 3G or 4G USB devices use the WIMAX or the LTE standards, which are IEEE 802.16x, and are not compatible with the wireless communication protocols supported. Also, these devices may require the installation of drivers and software which are not included with the Internet video device and they cannot be installed.
