The LCD TV firmware will not update with a USB flash drive
Before you start
If you have an ™ or Android TV with Google TV™, refer to the How to perform a software update on your TV article for steps and videos.
Many LCD TVs allow a firmware update through the USB port. If the TV firmware doesn't update or isn't recognized, make sure that the USB flash drive meets the following requirements:
- It has a capacity of 4GB or less
- It is formatted in FAT32
- It has been tested on other USB ports on the TV.
- Some TV models have USB ports labeled Service, which is intended for firmware updates only.
Reset the TV
If the firmware still won't update with the USB flash drive, reset the TV.
- Perform a power reset while the USB flash drive is inserted.
- If the issue still occurs, remove the USB flash drive and perform a factory reset.
