Turn off your TV automatically using the Idle TV power off, Idle TV Standby, or Turn off TV after feature
Have you ever fallen asleep with the TV on or forgotten to turn it off after playing a game? By setting the Idle TV power off, Idle TV Standby, or Turn off TV after feature, the TV will automatically go into standby after a certain period of inactivity. You can prevent forgetting to turn off the power, which leads to power savings.
Note: The feature name (Idle TV power off, Idle TV Standby, or Turn off TV after) differs depending on the model.
The setting procedure is as follows:

- Access the Settings screen.
- If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings
- If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings
- The following steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select System → Power & Energy → Energy Saver → Idle TV power off or Turn off TV after.
- Select System → Power and Energy → Eco Dashboard → Idle TV power off.
- Select System → Power and Energy → Idle TV power off.
- Select Device Preferences, Power or BRAVIA Settings → Power or Eco → Idle TV standby
- Select System Settings or Preferences → Eco → Idle TV standby.
- Choose your desired period of inactivity.
Note: Available setting period differs depending on the model.
Note: If you want your TV to turn off after a specific time instead of after a certain period, you can use the Sleep timer function. The procedure differs depending on the model, and the following is an example. See your TV's manual or Help Guide for more information.
- On the remote control, press the HOME button.
- The following steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Apps → select Timers & Clock → Sleep timer → select the desired option.
- Select (Timers icon) → Sleep timer → select the desired option.
