IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

Connecting the SRS-NS7 wireless neckband speaker or the optional WLA-NS7 wireless transmitter to a BRAVIA™ XR series TV and adjusting specific settings allows you to enjoy realistic 3D surround sound with your neckband speaker. The WLA-NS7 wireless transmitter is also sold separately, so you can enjoy 3D surround using compatible headphones.

In addition, you can use the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app to estimate the shape of your ear to achieve more immersive and optimized 3D surround effects.

Connection of TV, Transmiter and Wireless Neckband Speaker

    Notes:

    1. Connect the TV and transmitter

Connect the transmitter to your TV. For details, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the wireless neckband speaker (SRS-NS7 or BRAVIA Theater U) or the wireless transmitter (WLA-NS7).

Note: The optical digital output and USB terminals are located on the back or side of your TV. Check the Setup Guide supplied with your TV for specific locations of each terminal. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

The transmitter has a digital in and DC in connection. This connects to the TV optical and USB jacks

    2. Pair the transmitter with the Neckband Speaker or headphones (except for SRS-NS7)

Note: For SRS-NS7, skip to the following step: 3. Set up 3D surround on the TV

To experience 3D surround sound, pair the transmitter with the Neckband Speaker or Sony brand headphones.

    1. Turn on the TV.
Note: On the TV screen, the 3D surround initial setting screen will be displayed. Before following these on-screen instructions, proceed to Steps 2 and 3 below.
    2. On the transmitter, press and hold the (BLUETOOTH) button for about 5 seconds.
The indicator (blue) on the transmitter will flash twice and enter pairing mode.
Note: When using it for the first time after purchase, the transmitter will automatically enter pairing mode once it is connected to the TV with a cable.
    3. Set the Neckband Speaker or headphones to pairing mode:
The procedure may vary depending on the product. For detailed pairing instructions, please refer to the Help Guide or Manual of each product.

    3. Set up 3D surround settings on your TV

    4. Enjoy 3D surround

After the initial setup, you can enjoy the 3D surround sound using your neckband speaker or headphones.

    Notes:

    • To stop the 3D surround, turn off the neckband speaker or headphones or on the TV remote control, press the ( or ) button, and then turn the 3D surround off.
Note: If there's no sound from the TV speakers after turning off the neckband speaker or headphones, turn off the 3D surround.

Note: If the TV already has the 3D surround turned on, you can enjoy the 3D surround by turning on the neckband speaker or headphones with the transmitter connected to the TV. If you can't start 3D surround after turning on the neckband speaker or headphones, turn on 3D surround.

    Troubleshooting

    • When enjoying the 3D surround, no sound is output from the TV. The volume control button on the TV remote control is disabled. Adjust the volume with the neckband speaker or headphones.

Note: Depending on the headphone model, it may be necessary to adjust the volume using the Sony | Headphones Connect app. For details, check your headphones instruction manual.

    • You won't be able to enjoy 3D surround if the neckband speaker or headphones are directly connected to the TV via Bluetooth®.
