Troubleshoot the Wireless LAN-ready TV Internet Connection

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

    1. Make sure the TV has the latest system software update installed. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
    2. Make sure the UWA-BR100 wireless LAN adapter (required) is connected securely to the USB port on the TV.
      • The use of other USB adapters is not supported.
    3. Check the wireless connection using a different device.
      • If a different device doesn't connect to the internet, make sure the modem and router are on.
      • Check or change your router settings. Refer to the router documentation to perform these instructions.
        • If the router uses multiple frequencies, try a different frequency.
          • Some TVs can't connect to a 5 GHz connection. Check your TV manual for more details. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
          • Make sure your TV isn't placed near other devices that use the same frequency. Devices such as cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, and other Bluetooth® devices may cause interference.
        • Change the channel of your router to see if the signal strength improves.
        • For DSL customers, the router setup might require a user name and password and the router will be set to PPoE. Internet-capable Tvs support broadband internet connections only. They are not compatible with dial-up.
      • Perform a power reset on the router.
        1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for one minute.
        2. Plug the power cord back in and wait until the router lights indicate that it has completely restarted (the lights stop flashing and remain lit).
        3. If the issue still occurs, there may be a problem with the router or with your Internet Service Provider. Contact the router manufacturer or ISP for further assistance.
      • If the issue still occurs, reset the TV to factory settings.
