My TV is reading or describing the menu out loud

The Talkback or Screen reader feature may have been enabled through the Accessibility Shortcut window. This window appears one time during the initial setup or when you press and hold the MUTE or MUTING button for approximately 3 or more seconds.

The Talkback or Screen reader feature verbally describes the information on your TV to aid in the navigation of the TV menu. When this Accessibility Shortcut is enabled, you can press the MUTE or MUTING button for 3 seconds to quickly turn this feature On or Off. If you don't want to use this feature, the shortcut can be disabled through the TV menu.

Steps to disable the Accessibility Shortcut from the Settings menu

If you don't want to use the Talkback or Screen reader feature, you can disable it in the TV settings.

1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings → Accessibility.
3. Under Services, make sure Talkback and Screen reader are Off.
   • Steps to turn off Talkback 

     1. Select Talkback.
     2. Unselect Enable.
     3. Select OK.

   • Steps to turn off Screen reader 

     1. Select Screen reader.
     2. Unselect Enable.
     3. Select OK.

4. Turn off the Accessibility shortcut:
   1. Select Settings → Accessibility → Accessibility shortcut.
   2. Turn off Enable accessibility shortcut.
