The headphones do not charge (LinkBuds Fit, LinkBuds Open, LinkBuds, LinkBuds UC)

    Follow these steps to troubleshoot why the earbuds do not charge:

    1. Clean the charging port of the charging case, and check if the charging can be completed.

      If dust or dirt is in or around the charging port, it may not charge properly. Remove the dust or dirt with a soft, dry cloth before charging.

      The charging can be completed
      The charging port of the charging case may have been dirty.
      Hint: Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent issues with charging.
      The charging can't be completed
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    2. Take the charging case to a room with an ambient temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C (59 °F - 95 °F), and charge it again.
      The issue is resolved
      The issue was caused by the ambient temperature being too high or too low.
      The issue is not resolved
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    3. Use the supplied USB Type-C® cable to connect the charging case to a USB AC adapter or computer, charge the earbuds for about 10 minutes, and check if the case is charging.
      The charging can be completed
      Use the USB Type-C cable supplied with the product. Charging may not be possible with a commercially available cable or a USB hub.
      The charging can't be completed
      Disconnect the USB Type-C cable from the charging case, then go to the next troubleshooting step.
    4. Clean the earbuds' charging port and check the indicator's status in the following order.

      Note: For details on how to clean the headphones, refer to the How to care for the headphones article.

      1. Set both earbuds into the charging case and check the status of the indicator.
        The indicator lights up in orange for about 3 seconds
        .
        An abnormal combination of left and right units may cause the issue. Consult repair.
        The indicator lights up in orange 1 time

        The earbuds may have been placed in the charging case with the left and right sides reversed. Put the earbuds on the correct sides, and check if the charging starts.

        The indicator lights up in orange, and the charging can be completed
        The earbuds have been placed in the charging case with the left and right sides reversed.
        The charging can't be completed
        Go to step 4-2.
      2. Set the left side of the earbuds into the charging case and check the status of the indicator.
        The indicator lights up in green for about 3 seconds
        The earbuds are fully charged. Go to step 4-3.
        The indicator lights up in orange 1 time

        An error occurs while charging the left side of the earbuds.

        Go to step 4-3.
        The indicator flashes twice in orange

        The abnormal temperature may prevent the charging. Leave the charging case in a place with an ambient temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C (59 °F - 95 °F), and try charging again.

        The charging can be completed
        The abnormal temperature on the left side of the earbud may have caused the issue.
        The charging can't be completed
        Go to step 4-3.
        The indicator doesn't light up
        If the fitting supporter is not properly attached, and the contact point may not work well and affect the charging. For details on how to wear the headphones, refer to the appropriate article:
        After re-attaching the fitting supporter, the charging can be completed
        The issue was caused by by the method used to attach the fitting supporters.
        After re-attaching the fitting supporter, the indicator still doesn't light up
        Go to step 4-3.
      3. Set the right side of the earbuds into the charging case and check the status of the indicator.
        The indicator lights up in green for about 3 seconds
        The earbuds are fully charged.
        The indicator lights up in orange 1 time

        An error occurs while charging the right side of the earbuds.

        Go to step 6.
        The indicator flashes twice in orange

        The abnormal temperature may prevent the charging. Leave the charging case in a place with an ambient temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C (59 °F - 95 °F), and try charging again.

        The charging can be completed
        The abnormal temperature on the right side of the earbud may have caused the issue.
        The charging can't be completed
        Go to step step 6.
        The indicator doesn't light up
        If the fitting supporter is not properly attached, and the contact point may not work well and affect the charging. For details on how to wear the headphones, refer to the appropriate article:
        After re-attaching the fitting supporter, the charging can be completed
        The issue was caused by the method used to attach the fitting supporters.
        After re-attaching the fitting supporter, the indicator still doesn't light up
        Go to step step 5.
    5. Check if you can charge a different device with the same AC adapter or USB port.

      Use the same AC adapter or the USB port on the computer to charge a different mobile device or product.

      The mobile device or product is charging
      Go to step step 6.
      The mobile device or product can't be charged
      The AC adapter or USB port may not work. Contact the manufacturer.
    6. Reset the earbuds.

      Refer to the appropriate article:

      The issue is resolved
      The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction with the earbuds.
      The issue is not resolved
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    7. Initialize the earbuds.

      Initialization returns the earbuds to the factory settings, and all Bluetooth® pairing information is deleted.

      The issue is resolved
      The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction with the earbuds.
      The issue is not resolved
      The earbuds may be malfunctioning, and service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
