How to analyze your ear shape (360 Reality Audio)

    Analyze your individual ear shapes in the 360 Reality Audio Setup settings using the Sony | Headphones Connect app to experience realistic and immersive sound.

    Before you begin the steps below, make sure to update the Sony | Headphones Connect app to the latest version (6.1.3 or higher) and then watch a video that guides you through the procedure for analyzing your ear shapes.

    Note: You can analyze your ear shapes using compatible Sony products only.

    Steps to analyze your ear shape

    The images and steps used in this article are for the WH-XB900N headphones, however, they apply to other models as well.

    1. On your mobile device, open the Sony | Headphones Connect app and connect your Bluetooth® headphones.
    2. In the 360 Reality Audio Setup section, next to Analyze ear shape, tap ANALYZE.
    3. When the message Analyze your ear shape appears, check the following:
      • Make sure your ears are completely visible and that your hair is not covering your ears.
      • Remove the headphones from your ears.
        Note: For Truly Wireless earbuds, do NOT put them back in the charging case.
      • Remove earrings and piercings.
    4. Tap NEXT.
    5. Read the displayed message, and tap OK.
    6. When the message Take a photo of your left ear appears, tap TAKE A PHOTO.

      Note: When the confirmation screen for access to the application appears, tap ALLOW.

    7. When the message On the next screen, voice guidance will be provided appears, tap OK and then follow the voice guidance instructions.
    8. Face the camera. Make sure to fit your face inside the frame of the application.
    9. Turn your head to the right so that the left side of your face is inside the frame of the application. The camera will automatically take a photo when your ear is detected.
    10. When the message Your left ear has been successfully captured appears, tap NEXT.
    11. Face the camera again. Make sure to fit your face inside the frame of the application.
    12. Turn your head to the left so that the right side of your face is inside the frame of the application. The camera will automatically take a photo when your ear is detected.
    13. When the message Your right ear has been successfully captured appears, tap START.

    The analysis is complete when the message Completed appears. You can now optimize your apps (360 Reality Audio).
