This is the global campaign video for Sony’s LinkBuds Fit truly wireless Noise Cancelling headphones, featuring Grammy-award winning singer Olivia Rodrigo.
The video opens in a noisy subway train car. We zoom into Olivia Rodrigo, sitting on a bench seat with her legs crossed, dressed in a colorful sweater. A few passengers pass by in front of her and she looks at the screen of a smartphone in her hands.
In a profile shot of her face, she taps the left side earbud to activate the Noise Cancelling function, and the ambient sound suddenly becomes quiet.
The view cuts back to her holding a LinkBuds Fit case and smartphone, with the smartphone screen showing the content the fans enjoying her live performance.
Someone passing by drops a pair of sunglasses in front of her. She notices the sunglasses, looks up and tries to let the person know. The lady, wearing a white dress, walks on to the front in the train car without noticing her. Olivia stands up and taps the right side LinkBud.
Her smartphone screen lights up to shows music is playing, then the Olivia Rodrigo's track, “Obsessed” starts.
Olivia chases the lady through the crowded train car, dodging between other standing passengers as she runs.
A phone call from her mother comes in, and she taps the right hand earbud to answer the call. She says she will call her back later and the music restarts as she continues chasing after the lady, who keeps disappearing in the crowded train car.
We cut through an energetic montage ofshots of Olivia, the inside of the train car, and the railroad, with dramatically pulsating lights.
She taps the left LinkBud to hear an announcement from the train, even as her music continues.
Finally she catches up with the lady in white, as she gets off the train, to return the dropped sunglasses.
The lady looks back and smiles. As we finally get to see her face, it’s clear she is a perfect doppelgänger of Olivia Rodrigo herself.
The lady receives the sunglasses and thanks her.
For a beat, both of them stand facing each other in front of the train platform stairs and smile. Then the lady leaves, still smiling, and as she walks away she taps the left side of her own LinkBuds, looking satisfied.
The video ends with LinkBuds series product images, including the LinkBuds Fit truly wireless Noise Cancelling headphones. Captions read “LinkBuds Fit x Olivia Rodrigo ” followed by the “For The MUSIC” and Sony animated logos.
LinkBuds is a product name and please say “LinkBuds” even for one of them.
The video goes like this: She gets off the train, runs a little and finally catches up with the lady.
