Awesome camcorder

A great camcorder with great features. Light weight and it even comes with a projector. First time using a handheld projector and somehow I used it quite often as I was too lazy to connect it to the TV or smartphone to show my family members the video. Feature wise, it was useful to me. Overall experience, I was happy having this and I am looking forward to using it more often. It would be great if the lense were abit wider.

This camcorder has some of the best features in a camcorder in its price range. I can live with the fact that it lacks an onboard video light. Seldom use it. The built-in projector is a cool feature although i wish it had better resolution. The multi interface hotshoe sits a bit too deep to be used with my 3rd party external mic that I already owned instead of investing in a Sony one. There's just no way I can fit the mic in there. The use of microSD card is great as I can insert it into my tablet to watch the footage I've just recorded. Battery life is very good. Photo quality is quite good for a camcorder, considering its small sensor size. Video quality is a little lacking though, when compared to my old Canon HF 200 which I bought for the same price a few years ago.. A little too noisy in some situations even though there's enough light. By the way, I always use Standard HQ, similar setting to the one I set on my Canon for best quality in a not so big filesize. The difference in quality however is noticeable. Canon is better. Setting the audio recording level to auto while filming my band during our practice distorted some of the recorded sounds. My advice is to set it manually at maybe 25% if you're filming in a loud environment, then amplify it during editing to avoid getting audio distortion. Image stabilization is one of the best I've seen so far. But auto focusing can be erratic, focusing on the background when the subject moves a little off center. The menu feels a little clumsy. After setting something within the menu you'll be totally kicked out of the menu instead of going back to the previous screen. So in order to set another setting you have to keep going back into the menu. I wanted to like this camcorder so much for all its features but the average output quality was a letdown. Maybe one day I'll find a setting that could get me a reasonable quality at a reasonable filesize.
