Bravia Cam
CMU-BC1 20 September 2023 by Oldrocker8 (United Kingdom)
I bought the Camera to enhance my new Sony bravia 55 in television. The camera sits nearly at top centre with a small lip bracket and plugs into the TVs USB port. Setup was quick and easy the Sony recognise the camera and started the setup and tutorial. Easy to use hand gestures to control volume, power off, and much more. Can be used as a webcam using an app. The auto person recognition for setting the volume balance and seat position worked well. The cam adjusts the TV brightness and power saving features. The firmware for the cam updates via the TV notification and is simple keeping the system bugs and fixes latest version

Doesn’t work! Zoom won’t work, as advertised
CMUBC1 20 September 2024 by BillyV (USA) Verified Purchaser Verified
We have several brand new Sony TVs and received a solicitation from Sony to purchase this camera so we could use the new Zoom APP. We have the latest firmware and the camera does NOT work with the Zoom APP on any of the NEW TVs running the latest SONY firmware. Disappointing.

CMUBC1 11 September 2024 by unhappy camera customer (USA) Verified Purchaser Verified
Purchased a 75" TV and camera, Geek squad came to install the TV and camera had not seen the camera before. I have called the Sony support line 5 times and as soon as the virtual assistant says I will get you a support number and transfer you to support it hangs up.

Quality product
CMU-BC1 08 September 2023 by Cuttlechucker (United Kingdom)
Superb picture and the subtitles are distinct and do not obstruct the picture A Great buy Bit more thought needed on the remote as the buttons are not of a decent size for older people.

I very much miss the auto zoom feature while making a google meet call. Secondly - it can not brightness the object during the call - this feature typically come in todays webcams.

Good features but just ok performance.
CMUBC1 09 December 2022 by Zack Saad (USA)
So I’ve had this for only a day. But I’ve been able to test all the available features in different situations. When sitting to the side of the tv sometimes the camera doesn’t detect your hand for gesture control. The sound and picture adjustments work as advertised and I’m happy with it. All the other features work great. Overall I think it has some cool features with hopefully more to come.(I used this on my Sony x95k)

Poor user interface!
CMU-BC1 GE1 21 September 2022 by CH Lim (Singapore) Verified Purchaser Verified
I connected it to my new TV and there is no instructions or user friendly menu for setting the camera up. It seems to be working as I could see the LED light turning on and off. Other than that, there is no other menu on the TV in setting for me to setup this camera.

Misleading Product with USB that should be HDMI
CMU-BC1 03 September 2022 by CXGuru (United Kingdom)
I bought this for my elderly parents to have on their TV it arrived with a USB connector all the setup help indicates that it should have an HDMI connector. I'm spending £15 buying connectors in the hope that I can get it to work. It is misleading because its supposed to be an HDMI connection and its not.
