There is no picture; the entire screen is black and the word VIDEO is displayed.
This will happen if the TV is tuned to a video input jack in which there is no incoming signal; either there is no device (VCR, DVD player, etc.) connected to the video jack, the connected device is turned off, or there is a faulty connection between the TV and connected device.
IMPORTANT: The PAL and SECAM video formats are not supported on Sony® televisions manufactured for the United States; only the NTSC and ATSC video formats are supported. Attempting to play a PAL or SECAM video source on the TV may result in a black screen with no picture.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
- Turn on the TV.
- To tune the TV to a channel or different video input.
- Ensure the video cable between the TV and device is in good condition and securely connected; replace it if necessary.
- Turn on the connected device.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
