I cannot hear the person on the other end of the line through the speakers.

If you are unable to hear the voice of the caller through the car speakers of the car stereo system when receiving a call on a cellular telephone, try the following steps to resolve this issue:

    NOTES:

    • Not all of the car stereo systems are supplied with the same functions. To see if your car stereo system has the functions mentioned below, check the specifications. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
    • Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the voice status after completing each step.
    1. Try adjusting the volume for the callers voice while on a call.
    2. Turn both the cellular phone and the car stereo system off and then turn them back on again.
      • If you are using a Bluetooth® system:
        1. If you have a Bluetooth system, press and hold the Handsfree button to use the Call Transfer function. You may need to check the Call Transfer and Hands free settings on your phone.

NOTE: When using the Handsfree function, the sound will only output through the front left and right speakers during a phone call. This is normal operation.

        2. Some cellular phones do not switch to Handsfree status when the Answer button on the cellular phone is used to answer the call. If this happens, depending on your model, press either the CALL or SELECT button on the car stereo to switch to the Handsfree mode.
      • If you are using the Sony® Digital Link Sound system:
        1. Depending on your cellular phone, the call may bypass the stereo system and end up being routed directly to the cell phone itself.
        2. If this happens, you will not hear the caller through the car speakers. In this instance, use the speaker of your cellular phone to hear the caller.

NOTE: This solution also pertains to the XDP-PK1000 Digital Link Sound System and the XDP-MU110 DSP Master Unit.
