Use a Google Home Device with a Soundbar or an A/V Receiver

The Google Home® voice-activated speaker has many different features and functions that you can use with your sound bar or an A/V receiver. Check the information below before connecting the Google Home device to your device:

Make sure that the Google Cast™ or Chromecast™ version of your device is version 1.21x or later.
- On the your device's remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Setup.
- Select System Settings.
- Select System Information.
- Check the Google Cast Version or the Chromecast built-in Version.
- Reset your device to its factory defaults.

- For soundbars
- On your remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Setup.
- Select Resetting.
- Select Reset to Factory Default Settings.
- For receivers
- Power off the receiver.
- Press the Power button for more than five seconds.
- For soundbars
- Set the Quick Start/Network Standby to On.
- On your device's remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select Setup.
- Select System Settings.
- Select System Information.
- Select Quick Start/Network Standby.
- Select On.
- Set up the Google Home device and the Google Home app. Detailed steps are available on the Google Support page.
Note: Your device will use its MAC address as the device name. You have an option in the Google Home app to change it.
