There is no sound from the AV receiver speakers when a TV is connected to HDMI OUT B (TV) on the receiver
If you connect two TVs to the AV receiver, you can switch the image signals between them by connecting each TV to the HDMI OUT A and HDMI OUT B jack.
However, connecting a TV to the HDMI OUT B jack has different specifications than connecting to the HDMI OUT A jack.
- When a TV is connected to the HDMI OUT A jack: The eARC/ARC function works, and sound can be heard from the TV when the speakers are connected to the AV receiver.
- When a TV is connected to the HDMI OUT B jack: This connection method doesn't have the ARC function, which means sound from the TV can't be sent back to the AV receiver. Because of this specification, sound can't be heard from the TV when the speakers are connected to the AV receiver without an additional connection.
To hear sound from the TV when the speakers are connected to the AV receiver, try the following setup:
- For the TV connected to the HDMI OUT B jack, you should also connect the TV's sound output jack to either the OPTICAL IN jack or the AUDIO IN jack on the AV receiver.
- If Auto is selected for the input on the AV receiver, switch it to Optical or Analog, depending on the connection method.
For more details on this setup, refer to the AV receiver's Help Guide. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
