I suddenly don’t receive any Facebook updates

You might experience that your Facebook™ account has suddenly stopped syncing. You don’t receive any account updates and you cannot open individual profiles. The message Check your network connection may also appear. One of the reasons that Facebook updates don’t work may be that STAMINA mode has been activated automatically to save battery power.

To solve the problem, try these actions one after the other. Verify after each action whether the problem was solved before trying the next one.

• Try deactivating STAMINA mode, either manually or by connecting a charger to your device. If this solves the problem, STAMINA mode has most likely caused syncing to stop. Note! Once you have deactivated STAMINA mode, it may take a while before your apps start syncing.
• To avoid the issue, remove the Facebook app from the list of battery-optimised apps in Settings. When the app has been removed from the list, you can open and refresh it.
• If deactivating STAMINA mode doesn't solve the problem, go to https://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/, select your device model, and enter My Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping in the search field. The troubleshooting article “My Wi-Fi® connection keeps dropping” will suggest a number of Wi-Fi® related solutions.
• If the Wi-Fi® related solutions don't work, enter There is no network coverage or mobile data connection in the search field. The troubleshooting article “There is no network coverage or mobile data connection” will suggest a number of connectivity related solutions.
• If you still experience problems with streaming, enter An app isn’t working in the search field to get a list of solutions from the troubleshooting article “An app isn’t working”.

Deactivating STAMINA mode

Android 7.0

To deactivate STAMINA mode manually

1. Drag down the status bar to open the Notification panel and then tap the notification STAMINA mode activated.
2. Drag the slider beside On to the left.

Android 6.0

To deactivate STAMINA mode manually

1. Drag down the status bar to open the Notification panel and then tap the notification STAMINA mode activated.
2. Tap Never to deactivate STAMINA mode.

Removing an app from the battery optimisation list

To remove an app from the battery optimisation list

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Battery.
3. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) and select Battery optimisation to view a list of non-battery-optimised apps.
4. To add the Facebook app to the list of non-battery-optimised apps, tap APPS and then mark the checkbox for the Facebook app. The app is added to the NOT OPTIMISED list.
