How to pair the S-AIR Wireless devices.
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
IMPORTANT:
- If you are using a wireless network router, make sure to turn if off before attempting to pair the S-AIR® wireless devices.
- If you experience any difficulty with pairing, verify that the cards are firmly inserted. When the cards are properly and firmly inserted, you should hear a click.
- If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
Starting with one S-AIR main unit and one S-AIR sub unit, do these pairing steps after placing the sub unit next to the main unit:
- Reset the S-AIR main unit by pressing the STOP, EJECT, and POWER button at the same time while the unit is turned on.
NOTE: COLD RESET will appear in the display.
- Reset the S-AIR sub unit by pressing the STOP, DISPLAY, and POWER button at the same time while the unit is turned on.
- Make sure that the RF CHANGE setting in the SYSTEM MENU is set to OFF.
- Match the ID in the S-AIR SETUP menu of the main unit to the ID Selector Switch on the back of the S-AIR sub unit.
- Turn the power off on both the S-AIR main unit and the S-AIR sub unit.
- Unplug the cards and then firmly plug the cards back in. You should hear a click verifying the cards were properly inserted.
- The units should now be paired.
NOTES:
- It is easy to set the same ID for the S-AIR main unit and S-AIR sub unit to establish sound transmission. However, neighbors may also receive sound from your system if IDs are the same, or you may receive the sound from neighbors. To prevent this, you can identify the unit with a specific S-AIR sub unit by performing the pairing operation.
- When you are using another S-AIR sub unit, such as a surround amplifier, do not change the ID of the unit. Set the ID of the S-AIR receiver to the same ID as the unit.
