The date and time keeps flashing or cannot be set.

The camcorder needs to be set to the camera mode in order to set the date and time. If the date and time cannot be set, or does not stay set after turning the camcorder off, it may be necessary to replace the internal Lithium Ion button battery. Many camcorders use a Lithium Ion button battery to store the date and time when turned off.

NOTES:

• Some internal Lithium Ion batteries are not replaceable by the user. If this battery fails, it will require replacement by a Sony Service Center. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the camcorder to confirm location and type of internal battery used.
• If setting the date and time after replacing the Lithium Ion battery does not resolve the issue, the camera will require service.
