Follow these steps to prevent a program from loading or starting automatically when the computer is started.

IMPORTANT: Disabling a startup item may change the way an application functions or disable automated processes.

1. Click the Start button, then in the Start Search box, type: msconfig.
2. Press the Enter key.

   NOTE: If prompted for an administrator password or a User Account Control prompt is displayed, type the appropriate password or click Continue.

3. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
4. On the Startup tab, click to clear the box next to the desired item to prevent it from loading at startup.
5. Click the OK button.
6. In the System Configuration dialog box, click the Restart button.
