How do I set the camera to save photos on the memory card (SD card)?

    If you have inserted a memory card (SD™ card) into your Xperia® device, the camera setting Data storage appears. Using this setting, you can select to save photos and videos that you take and record.

    To save camera photos and videos on the memory card.

    Android™ 11 or higher

    1. Click on the camera icon.
    2. Tap the Settings icon (the gear icon) or tap MENU.
    3. Tap Data storage, then tap SD card the photos and videos will be saved on the storage selected.

    Android 6.0, 7.0, 7.1, 8.0, 9.0, or 10

    1. Click on the camera icon.
    2. Tap the Settings icon (the gear icon) → More.
    3. Tap Data storage, then tap SD card.

    Android 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0, or 5.1

    1. Click on the camera icon.
    2. Tap the Menu icon (three vertical dots), then tap the Settings icon.
    3. Tap Data storageSD card.

    Xperia® 1 II, Xperia 5 II, Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III and Xperia PRO-I

    To save Photo Pro (Photography Pro) photos on the memory card

    1. Activate Photo Pro.
    2. Tap MENU.
    3. Tap SetupData storage, then select SD card.
      Notes:
      • Cinema Pro (Cinematography Pro) in Xperia® 1, Xperia 5, Xperia 1 II, and Xperia 5 II don't support SD card storage.
      • Some features in Photo Pro (Photography Pro) in Xperia 1 II & Xperia 5 II don't support SD card storage, for example, 20fps burst mode RAW file format
