aibo Freezes and Doesn't Move
Your aibo™ robotic companion has ranging sensors located on its chest that detect the distance of an object in front of it. If the ranging sensors are dirty, aibo may not be able to move. Clean the ranging sensors with a dust blower, or wipe them with a soft object, such as a cotton swab, to resolve the issue.
Note: aibo may immediately stop moving if it turns off or goes into sleep mode. This is a normal operation.
Follow the steps below if aibo still doesn't move after cleaning the ranging sensors. Check if aibo will start moving after each step
- Say "Shake hands" to aibo.
- If aibo shakes hands as commanded, then there's no problem with it. Wait until aibo starts its next movements.
- Restart aibo.
- Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn aibo off temporarily.
Note: If aibo doesn't turn off, perform a force shut off as shown in step 3.
- If you turn off aibo while it's on, it finishes its current action and the LED flashes in green and then goes out to indicate that the power is off.
- If you turn off aibo while it's in sleep mode, the red status LED goes out to indicate that the power if off.
- Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn on aibo again.
- Make sure not to press the power button again as aibo takes some time to move during this period.
