aibo doesn't turn on

If your aibo™ robotic companion doesn't turn on or the status LED doesn't light in green, follow these steps to charge aibo and check if it improves aibo's condition:

1. Set up the charging station.
   1. Place the charging stand on the charging mat.
   2. Slide the charging stand in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place.
   3. Connect the AC adapter to the supply terminal on the charging mat.
   4. Plug the AC adapter to the working wall outlet using a power cord.
2. Place aibo on the charging station with its paws facing forward. 
   • Make sure to align the charging pins with the charge connectors.

     

3. Check the status LED
   • Status LED lights in orange

     This indicates that aibo is charging. Wait until it turns green indicating that it has adequate charge, then follow these steps to turn on aibo:

     1. Take aibo off the charging station.
     2. Place aibo on a flat surface with its paws all pointing straight ahead.
        • aibo can't wake up or get up if its paws are crossed, pointing sideways, or backwards.
     3. On the back of aibo's neck, slowly press and hold the power button for two seconds.
        • The status LED lights in green indicating that aibo is turned on.
        • Make sure not to press the power button again because it takes aibo a while to move during this period.

   • Status LED doesn't light in orange

     This indicates that aibo isn't charging. Follow these steps to perform a force shut off:

     WARNING! This may cause loss of your data and settings.

     1. Take aibo off the charging station.
     2. Hold aibo firmly on a stable place, such as on a flat floor.
        • This avoids the risk of dropping or damaging aibo.
     3. Press and hold the power button for ten seconds or longer to force aibo to shut off.
     4. Press the power button for two seconds then check if aibo turns on.
        • If the status LED lights in green indicating that aibo is on, make sure not to press the power button again because it takes aibo a while to move during this period.
        • If the status LED flashes red three times, and aibo turns off, charge it again.
          • This indicates that there's no battery remaining.
        • If the status LED stays unlit and aibo doesn’t turn on, charge it again. If the status LED doesn’t light in orange and stays unlit, contact the Customer Support for further assistance
