The Wi-Fi network LED on aibo flashes or doesn't light up
The Wi-Fi® network LED indicates the connection status between your aibo™ robotic companion and your Wi-Fi network. Follow the instructions based on the symptom of the LED indicator to resolve the issue.
Stays unlit or doesn't light up
This indicates that the Wi-Fi feature is not active. Follow these steps to turn it on:
- Place aibo on its back on a flat surface.
- Push the lid on the torso and remove it when it pops up.
- Set the network switch to option 1 or 2.
- Option 1 turns on the Wi-Fi function only.
- Option 2 turns on both the Wi-Fi and the mobile network functions.
- Option OFF turns off both the Wi-Fi and the mobile network functions.
This indicates that the connection to the network with the Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ button failed. Check the connection to the network after completing each step.
- Make sure your Wi-Fi router or access point is on.
- Check the router manual for more information.

Move aibo away from devices or other environmental factors which may cause interference.
- Devices that may cause interference:
- Microwave ovens
- Cordless phones
- Garage door openers
- Wireless toys, etc.
- Environments that may cause interference:
- Places near large transmission lines
- Places that generate static electricity
- Places where the walls, decks, or doors have metal surfaces, etc
- Devices that may cause interference:
- Make sure that the stealth mode of your router is off.
- Stealth mode prevents the Wi-Fi name (SSID) to display.
- Make sure that your router is compatible with the 2.4 GHz band (11b, 11g, 11n).
- aibo doesn't support 5 GHz band (IEEE 802.11a, 11ac).
- Make sure that your router uses WPA2-PSK.
- aibo doesn't support WEP as a Wi-Fi security setting.

Perform a power reset on the devices.
- Turn off your router or access point for a minute, then turn it back on.
- On the back of aibo's neck, press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn it off.
- If you turn off aibo while it's on, it finishes its current action and the LED flashes in green, and then goes out to indicate that the power is off.
- If you turn off aibo while it's in sleep mode, the red status LED goes out to indicate that the power is off.
- Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn on aibo.
This indicates that aibo failed to establish a connection to the Wi-Fi network. Check the connection to the network after completing each step.
