How to troubleshoot the USB mouse.

    Follow these steps to troubleshoot a USB mouse.

    NOTES:

    • Ensure the latest drivers have been downloaded and installed.  Downloads are posted on your model support page.
    • This problem has been known to occur if the HotSync® utility is loading at startup. This is caused by both the USB mouse and the HotSync utility program trying to access the USB port at the same time.
    1. Clean the mouse ball and inside the mouse.
    2. Turn off the computer.
    3. Reset the BIOS defaults .
    4. Disconnect the USB mouse from the computer.
    5. Check the USB connector on the mouse cable to ensure it is not bent.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. Remove all devices listed in Device Manager under MOUSE.
    8. Reattach the mouse. The mouse will be detected and the correct drivers will load.
    The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, the mouse will need to be replaced.
