What is the Wi-Fi Direct feature?
The Wi-Fi Direct® feature allows audio and video content playback from mobile phones, cameras, and other devices directly to a compatible TV without the need for a home network connection. Using a computer, wireless access point or cable is not necessary and it's an alternative method to share movies, pictures and music using a BRAVIA™ TV, instead of passing around a smaller portable device.
To set up the Wi-Fi Direct feature of your TV, refer to the How to use the Wi-Fi Direct feature on a BRAVIA TV article.
The Wi-Fi Direct feature supports the following wireless connections:
- WPS Push Button
- WPS Input PIN Code
- WPA Key Input
Notes:
- Televisions manufactured before January 2011 will not have this feature.
- To determine if your TV supports the Wi-Fi Direct feature, refer to your TV manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- Your TV may require the latest system software (firmware) update to activate the Wi-Fi Direct feature.
