FAQ about the shutdown of Sony Pictures Store and 4K Ultra HD/HDR Streaming Service
The Sony Pictures Store closed and discontinued all related operations in the U.S. on January 31, 2019. Sony ULTRA was part of the Sony Pictures Store website and an app for select Sony 4K Ultra HD Android TVs.
About ULTRA accounts and content
Q1: What is the current status of ULTRA in the U.S.?
A1: Effective April 18, 2019, ULTRA will remove the NEW ACCOUNT SIGN-UP, PURCHASE, and REDEEM functions from its TV and Windows Apps.
ULTRA will maintain EXISTING ACCOUNT SIGN-IN and PLAYBACK functions until further notice.
Q2: Can I still access 4K Ultra HD movie and TV content I purchased or redeemed on ULTRA?
A2: Yes. An email with instructions to maintain access to your content has been sent to the email address you registered on ULTRA. Information is also posted in the Shutdown Notice that appears on the Sony Pictures Store website when you enter the site.
Q3: Can I still redeem valid digital codes for content?
A3: You can continue to redeem digital codes at redeem.sonypictures.com which meet the following criteria:
- The codes are unused and unexpired.
- The codes were received inside Sony Pictures Blu-ray, DVDs or other ULTRA digital code promotional offers.
Q4: Where can I find my ULTRA/Sony Pictures Store purchase history?
A4: Login to your account at https://www.sonypicturesstore.com. In the User Menu, select ACCOUNT and then click Order History.
Q5: What is the refund policy for ULTRA?
A5: We do not offer refunds. Please refer to the ULTRA Terms of Service or contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
