Why is the Home or last input screen always displayed when I turn on the TV?

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

If the Home screen always displays when the TV is turned on, the Power on behavior setting is set to the Google TV™ Home screen. You can change the TV startup behavior to the last input if you prefer your TV to power on with the last watched TV channel or external input.

    1. Set the Power on behavior to the Google TV Home screen or last input (last selected external input or TV channel):
      1. On the remote control, press the Quick Settings ( or ) button.
      2. Navigate to and select Power on behavior.
      3. Select Google TV home screen (Home screen) or Last used input (Last input).

    • Set the TV button to power on the TV and display the TV channels or selected input:
      1. On the remote control, press the Quick Settings button.
      2. Select SettingsChannels & InputsTV button shortcut → select the input of your choice or TV channels.

      Notes:

      • If the power is turned on within 30 seconds after the previous power off, the TV will start with the last displayed app, regardless of the Power on behavior setting.
      • Suppose the power is turned off while displaying the Home screen or another application screen (except TV channels and external inputs). In that case, the TV will start on the Home screen, regardless of the Power on behavior setting.
      • The default Power on behavior value depends on the status of the signed-in Google™ account. If you signed in to the Google account on the TV, the default value is the Home screen. If not, the last input is the default.
