Abstract
We report a narrow divergence angle of 3.9° from a gallium-nitride-based vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with a curved mirror and an emission wavelength of 450.9 nm. This record width is enabled by the large mirror radius of curvature of 988um, almost 10x higher than previously demonstrated.
