How to set or change the time and date.

    Follow this procedure to set or change the time or date settings.

    IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

    1. Click the Start button, and in the Start menu, click Settings.

      NOTE: The Windows Logo + I key combination will also take you to the Settings screen.

    2. In the Settings window, click Time & language.
    3. In the Time & language window, under Date and time, the currently set time, day and date will be displayed.
    4. Under Change the date and time, click the Change button, set the Date and Time fields in the Change date and time window, and then click Change.

      NOTE: If the slider bar under Set time automatically is set to On then the Change button will not be available and the computer will determine and set the appropriate date and time automatically from the Internet.

    5. Under Time zone, make sure that the time zone is set correctly.
    6. Under Adjust for daylight saving time automatically, if you live in an area that uses daylight saving time, make sure that the slider bar is set to On.

      NOTES:

      • If you wish to change the way the time and date are displayed (the format), under Format, click Change time and date formats and follow the on-screen instructions.
      • If you wish to display clocks for different time zones, regions or cities, click Add clock for different time zones and follow the on-screen instructions.
