How do I browse files on an Xperia device? (Android 8, Android 9, Android 10 or Android 11)

Browse your files:
- Directly on the device
- By connecting the device via a USB cable to a computer

Browse files directly on your phone
- Using the pre-installed Album, Music, and Video apps, you can browse photos, videos, or audio tracks on your Xperia® device.
- You can also use a file manager app for viewing, searching, renaming, and organizing your files and folders. File manager apps are available for download from the Google Play™ store. Follow the steps below to browse using the Files app:
- Find and tap the Files app.
- On some devices, it's in the Other folder of the Applications screen.
- If the device has an SD card, tap Menu → Show internal storage. If not, go to the next step.
- Tap the options icon.
- Tap the Internal memory icon to browse the internal storage, → SD Card (if available) to browse a memory card, or Drive (if available) to access files on your Google Drive.
- Tap and hold a file to highlight it. You can tap the share icon to share the file or tap Menu to move or copy the file to another location.
- Find and tap the Files app.
Browse files using a computer
- Connect your Xperia device to a Windows® computer using a USB cable.
- [Android 8] Xperia device: If prompted, in the Use USB to dialog, tap Transfer files (MTP).
[Android 9, 10, 11] Xperia device: If prompted, in the Allow access? dialog, tap ALLOW. - On your Computer: Open Windows Explorer.
- Your Xperia device appears under Computer.
- Use Windows Explorer to drag and drop files between your computer and your phone or between your phone's internal storage and memory card.
